FLAME: Original Graphic Novel Concept
FLAME is an original graphic novel concept that tells the story of a kid named Auryn. Auryn had a great passion for art, but one day he decided to pursue a different path – one that he thought was more socially acceptable. In pursuing that path, Auryn lost his “flame”. Eventually, Auryn realizes that he is not himself without his “flame” and decides to reignite it and pursue his true passion – Viz (visual art). This story reflects events in my own life in which I found my way back to art through graphic design.
This graphic novel concept was created as a final project in college that encapsulated the skills learned in the graphic design program. The concept is geared at young children/pre-teens (ages 9+) and showcases the following skills: illustration, logo design, toy design, apparel design, motion design, and book cover design. It also showcases the ability to create a brand identity through holistic design.
